Chess
A full chess game for the terminal, written in Ruby. Two and a half months of work, every line from scratch.
What it does
- Three game modes: human vs. human, human vs. computer, computer vs. computer
- Moves by coordinate ('a1', 'e5'), with red dots marking every legal move
- Capturable enemy pieces get highlighted, and captured pieces go to a graveyard
- Illegal moves explain why they are illegal
- Full check and checkmate detection, with rematch handling
- Save the game at the start of any turn, and load it on launch
- Object oriented and test driven throughout
